Cross sections are generated at top and bottom of each column. If non-prismatic columns are defined, any number of cross sections may be defined at locations along the length of the column. Column cross sections are used to calculate the pier stiffness. The pier cap is assumed to be infinitely stiff and therefore does not have an actual cross section, i.e., is modeled by master-slave relationship.
